Falling Waters is a 50-bed facility for boys and girls. Youth reside in five cottages, each containing 10 individual bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and laundry room. The campus also has a school, recreational building, dining hall, chapel and clinical building with a health suite and confidential space for individual and family therapy services.

Clinically, all residents undergo comprehensive assessments when admitted and the results are incorporated into treatment goals, objectives and interventions. Families are actively involved in residents’ treatment whenever possible. Program discharge is determined by the successful completion of treatment goals and objectives.

Recreationally, youth participate in structured sports, fitness, club and community activities to increase self-esteem, physical health and trust of peers and adults.  The recreation facility includes an indoor gymnasium, fitness room, heated outdoor pool, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts and an adventure-based ropes course. Residents can also compete in inter-agency league teams, including flag football, softball, indoor soccer, volleyball and basketball.

Residents seeking to grow spiritually can participate in spiritual life activities on and off campus. Weekly services are held on grounds in the campus chapel, and off grounds at community churches.

The West Virginia Department of Education provides an extended educational program at the Falling Waters campus. Certified teachers and education staff address each student’s individual academic needs. Vocational training is offered in culinary arts and computer-based careers.

A multi-disciplinary team of professionals provides behavioral health support and treatment to residents. The staff includes a physician/psychiatrist, master’s level licensed therapists, social workers, certified chemical dependency counselors, therapeutic recreational specialists, registered nurses and certified teachers.
