DC Foster Care Program
The Board of Child Care’s DC Foster Care Program has worked with children and families since 1969. Today, the full service program serves approximately 45 children, age birth to 21, who are residents of the District.
The District of Columbia’s Child and Family Services Agency refers the children to the Board of Child Care, which places them in homes in DC or in Montgomery or Prince George’s counties in Maryland.
The foster care staff work in partnership with foster care families and birth parents toward the goal of finding permanency for the children or youth, either through reunification, guardianship or adoption.
